poor "first-borns"

are you a first born ?? then, i'm pretty sure you would say "yeah.. it happens to me too :(" at the end of each and every line in this post !!

know what ?? the younger one is always a "child" , but the elder one grows ten times a day !!! i've got a brother and he's 5 years younger than me. when i was in the nineth grade and wen there arose a fight between us (for a chocolate), i remember my mom saying " you are a big girl, meera.. he is just a child.. you have to give it to him".. and now, he is in the nineth grade and i have had to hear the very same dialogue !!! :(

another thing... my dad spoon feeds him daily !!!! :O my mom sits with him for every math lesson !! i help him with his school works !!! and, what is he doing ???? of course, playing FIFA in my laptop, with nobody to question him !!!!

and, the most awful thing - according to most parents, the reason behind every fight is undoubtedly the elder one.. the very same here !!! elder one is supposed to adjust for everything... if he dodges his work, i'm supposed to do it... poor me :(

are all these because he's a second born ???. hmm... that's the only reason i could think of...

anyway, on the positive side, there are quite a few advantages in being the senior.. but, if i'm going to mention them here, i'd end up contradicting my objective ;)

so, that's all folks !!!

Thou \m/Ope(ne)th\m/ my vision!

25th January, 2009!

Man! I was sick.. My voice had disappeared! Poof! My body was in terrible shape from headbanging for free concert tickets! But I managed to book them online anyway!
Many of my friends refused to come along because they thought 500 was too much a price for a rock concert at Saarang. Wtf?! People paid 1000/3000 to watch (loser) Enrique Iglesias at Bangalore and Mumbai and they call 500 costly?!! Damn retards!
Well they would know that the amount we paid...Paisa Vasool! I would have readily paid 500 more to have witnessed it.

Demonic Resurrection and MotherJane opened for the Scandinavian Death Metal Band.
A short Intro in this regard: Demonic Resurrection is from Mumbai, an awesome metal band with lead vocalist "DEMONSTEALER", also their first album. MotherJane a band from Cochin, a band I'd never heard of before.

Demonic Resurrection opened perfectly, got the crowd all enthusiastic! I've heard plenty of their songs before. They played A Darkness Descends, Apocalyptic Dawn, Spirits of Mystic Mountains and finally my favorite, Frozen Portrait! The song to which I could only lipsync and subtly headbang because of my illness.

MotherJane followed and frankly in my opinion they sucked a little. Their songs had a classical feel and the names man!, currently I remember only one: Maya! :S The vocals were cool but the music had a bit of pop in it and I'm sure it disturbed the crowd, as much as it did me.. Well they got one thing right: they got the audience desperate for \m/OPETH\m/.

And soon Opeth doth cometh!!
And with such finesse! Soon we realised the difference between pro rockers and Indian rookies! From the vocals to rhythm, from drums to the bass, Opeth simply proved how much improvement Indian rock bands need. They played us multiple death metal numbers from their albums Ghost of Perdition, Black Water Park, Watershed. We headbanged like crazy while people around started smoking marijuana. It was a typical metal concert with the band asking the audience to stop pushing because people in front were getting hurt, fans raising their middle fingers in response, going nuts rocking their hands back and forth in \m/ formation, lifting guys over their shoulders, removing their shirts, throwing friends up in the air in wild frenzy and screaming the band's name in persistent echoes...Opeth, Opeth, Opeth, Opeth, Opeth........

And it came to an end in two unforgettable hours. But hey what?! After a couple of Nokia promotion bull Mikael pretends talking to his wife on a new cell phone that nokia's CEO gifted him..."You're going to make it? ("YEAHHHHHH!"), I should play a couple more songs? ("YEAHHHHHHHHHH!") You want me to play a couple more songs?("YEEAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!")" And so followed a classic uproar and couple of Opeth numbers that led to the end of the concert... :(

And so we depressed, high, nauseous, choked up fans left in misery the OAT to return to our normal lives.. But Opeth did promise to come back!! And so we shall WAIT!
